Job Title: Drilling Engineer
Contract Length: 12-Months

Job Description: The Drilling Engineer is responsible for the planning design work related to the planning and operational delivery of wells on the project.
The Engineer will be working in the project team with responsibilities in drilling activities. The engineer is responsible for working interfaces towards other disciplines in the Project Team; SURF, FPSO Operations, Completions and Subsurface.
The Engineer is responsible for developing and delivering completion products in accordance with relevant strategies, plans, programmes, time, cost and in compliance with applicable guidelines and work processes.
The Engineer shall deliver simplification, standardisation, and industrialisation in context and according to company strategies through proactive risk understanding and mitigation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Safety in well design and execution.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver well planning and execution activities.
• Deliver risk assessments in well planning and execution.
• Deliver engineering feasibility and improvement projects in support of department objectives.
• Delivery of or QA/QC field wide engineering projects in support of simplification and standardisation.
• Perform QA/QC of engineering deliverables in well planning and execution.
• Prepare Well Maturation reports.
• Compile Main Well Planning reports.
• Plan Well On Paper reviews and experience sharing workshops.
• Engineering design using Landmark software suite.
• Lead engineering design input from contractors.
• Develop and review of Well Barrier Schematics.
• Evaluate offset data and implement lessons learned.
• Evaluate and specify well equipment.
• Prepare time and cost estimates.
• Deliver Well Permits and Notifications.
• Develop and update well schematics.
• Perform detailed studies into new technologies, well design and optimisation projects.
• Plan performance improvement workshops.
• Delivery and management of the DBR project planner inputs in the planning and execution phase
of well operations.
• Challenge the rest of the group to ensure that the work is done cost-effectively and that future
well operations can be run in a simple and cost-effective way.
• Delivery of results and engineering tasks through others within a well defined framework.
• Implementation of moderate to significant improvements to enhance performance within your
job area without the benefit of defined procedures.
• Participation in operational duty support rota's as required.
• Identify opportunities to contribute to the commercial success of the project and are responsible
for identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Delivery of complex engineering projects with minimal support and guidance.
• Develop the competency of the team in own area(s) of expertise.
• Experience with Subsea developments is desirable.
Qualifications:
• Experience 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including experience with an Oil and Gas Operator.
• Educated to degree level, professional experience can compensate for lack of formal qualifications.
• Knowledge and experience with UK regulations and well integrity requirements.
• Solid knowledge in drilling engineering or related core engineering discipline.
• Solid practical drilling engineering experience.
• Broad knowledge and experience of Wells (Completion) planning, and operations is desirable.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently/unsupervised and in collaboration with others, as required to achieve agreed objectives.
• Understanding of field development activities.
• Good English writing and oral skills.
