Overview / Responsibilities

HSEQ Advisor

Wood is currently recruiting for a Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to join our team in Kuala Lumpur.

Reporting directly to the HSSES Manager, this position will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Sustainability and Quality Assurance, with respect to Legislation, Company Policy, Management System and Client requirements, thereby ensuring business risks are prevented and mitigated.

The successful applicant will provide resolution to issues and monitors integration of health and safety programmes including hazard and risk identification, incident reporting and investigation, employee health and well-being, environmental hygiene and organisational transformation.

Responsibilities
  • Providing advice and guidance on all HSEQ related matters
  • Rolling out of Group HSEQ annual objectives and initiatives and development of company HSEQ objectives
  • Providing support to Business Unit/Contract/Project Managers in the development and roll-out of Group HSEQ objectives and other initiatives
  • Providing support to senior Managers in incident and accident investigations through the use of an appropriate Investigation process (e.g. ICAM or Taproot)
  • Monitoring 'best-practice' and developing 'leading-edge' HSEQ initiatives as appropriate to the business they are supporting
  • Completion of Management Support Visits to installations and worksites
  • Providing support to senior Managers in the timely reporting of both leading and lagging HSEQ Indicators
  • Undertaking lagging indicator reviews of incident/accident trends and providing timely advice to senior Managers and Corporate Management on actions and initiatives
  • Providing mentorship and training for graduate/new recruits into the team as appropriate
  • Providing cross-Business Unit support as required
  • Carrying-out HSEQ Inductions
  • Provide input and support in tender submissions
  • Developing HSEQ presentational material to support inductions and Group initiatives


Skills / Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications
  • Formal qualification i.e. Diploma, Degree, etc. in Occupational Health & Safety or similar Discipline
  • 3+ years HSE and Quality experience within the Oil & Gas sector
  • HSEQ advisor experience with project/contract experience in O&G or other industry
  • Ability to develop and build relationships with key client stakeholders and understand client requirements
  • Root Cause Analysis (Incident and Non-Conformance Investigator, e.g. ICAM, Taproot (essential)
  • Trained and competent Internal auditor
  • Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, the client and subcontractors to achieve Contract goals and outcomes
  • Ability to manage a multi-cultural workforce from a HSEQ perspective
