Reporting to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM), the Toolpusher's role is to supervise the drilling operations and associated activities and ensure it is in accordance with the well program. Ensure drilling operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

QUALIFICATIONS / LICENSE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  • Degree/ Diploma/ Cert/ Tertiary Education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Drilling Well Control Programme Surface BOP Stack (Minimum Level 4) issued by IWCF.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 10 years offshore experience (preferable Jack-up). Minimum 3 years in similar capacity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / MAJOR TASKS

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

  • Control all Drilling Operations and other interrelated activities being performed during their shift in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Responsible for all the essential drilling operations, such as drilling, reaming, coring, fishing, running casing, tubing, cementing;
  • Ensure the drilling operations are carried out as defined in the approved Operator's Instructions and Drilling Programme, and the operation is executed in accordance with company manual(s) and policies;
  • Report directly to the OIM any deviations from approved Operator's Instructions or Drilling Programme;
  • Helps all subcontractor companies to run their jobs and maintain a good cooperation;
  • Manage and monitor the execution of the Planned Maintenance System within the Drilling Department;
  • Ensure that all maintenance carried out on drilling equipment has been entered into the Maintenance Management system;
  • Maintain the tubular inventory;
  • Prepare Drilling Reports;
  • Check instructions, programmes and calculations supplied by Operator;
  • Provide relief for the Driller as required;
  • Coordinate activities with other members of the Company in a mutually helpful way;
  • Strictly adhere to the principle of trust, integrity and confidentiality; and
  • Perform any other tasks assigned related to the job from time to time.

QHSE MANAGEMENT

  • Your position is a Safety Critical Position. You are responsible to maintain the integrity of the "Barriers" meant to prevent Major Accident Hazard (MAH) from becoming an incident. You must be familiar with the barriers you are accountable for in Appendix 1 and ensure your Safety Critical Activities meant to safeguard those barriers are performed diligently;
  • Familiarise with your roles in the Velesto Emergency Response Plan and participate in all the emergency drills;
  • Familiarise with your roles in the station bill, ensure you understand your roles and perform your duties accordingly;
  • To take reasonable care for the safety and health of him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work; and
  • To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health instituted by the company or authority.
  • Not interfere with or misuse anything supplied for their health, safety and welfare;
  • Report quality related problems and HSE hazards or deficits within their area to their immediate Supervisor/ Manager;
  • Promote and take part in the QHSE continual improvement process;
  • Properly maintains assigned equipment and monitor compliance with safety regulations and procedures;
  • Abide by both Company and Client rules and instruction at all time, except where to do so would constitute a hazard/ threat to personnel or equipment;
  • Support, promote and participate in all Company related programmes and action plans in relation to Quality and HSE, and other programmes;
  • Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and regulations in addition to promoting safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complying with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations;
  • To perform when needed as per 'rig specific HSE Case' assignment.
