Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Oilfield Facilities/ Lease Operator with facilities operator experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of oil and gas wells, facilities, and equipment on assigned leases. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, facililities experience and a proven track record of safe and efficient operations.

Location: Wilson County; Candidates should live within a 60 mile radius. No man-camp available.

Schedule: 7x7 Rotation

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control oil and gas production from assigned leases to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Conduct routine inspections of well sites, facilities, and equipment to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of production, injection, and operating data for all wells.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including pumps, separators, and pipelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to oil and gas production.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure the safe and efficient completion of well maintenance and repair activities.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as spills or equipment malfunctions, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors, co-workers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Experience with oilfield software (e.g., SCADA, CYGNET, eVin) is preferred.
  • PSM certification is a plus.
    • PSM certification refers to the certification obtained by individuals who have successfully completed training and demonstrated knowledge in the principles and practices of process safety management. Process Safety Management is a system designed to prevent or minimize the occurrence of catastrophic incidents, such as explosions, fires, or chemical releases, in facilities that handle hazardous materials. It involves identifying, evaluating, and controlling potential risks associated with the handling of highly hazardous chemicals and ensuring proper procedures, training, and safety measures are in place to mitigate those risks. PSM certification signifies that an individual has received specialized training and possesses the necessary knowledge and skills to implement and maintain process safety management protocols in an industrial setting.

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications
  • 3+ years oilfield, production pumping and facilities experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical applications
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently under little supervision
  • Basic math skills
  • Responsible and diligent
  • Safety-conscious
  • Personal computer experience or willingness to learn
  • Previous oilfield experience
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to satisfy Department of Justice requirements with or without assistance
