SLB is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead the deployment of new energy technologies worldwide. The role involves overseeing the detailed design of cutting-edge renewable energy projects, including wind and solar generators, energy storage, carbon capture, grid interconnections, and more. Working closely with SLB and third-party technologies, EPCs, developers, transmission entities, and off-takers, you will ensure all parties involved are aligned to achieve the same goal. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with engineering design, managing technology risk, and maximizing asset performance. You will oversee the execution of renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate, efficient, and industry-standard compliant engineering designs, as well as identifying and mitigating technology risks. Working closely with the project team, you will ensure optimal asset performance and the attainment of project goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead the design, engineering, and commercial aspects of renewable energy and energy storage projects from concept to completion, with a focus on managing technology risk.

Support power plant design, balance of plant, control systems, and grid interconnection for renewable energy projects.

Advise on project deployment, grid interconnections, and power markets for new energy technologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, partners, vendors, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.

Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in renewable energy and energy storage technologies, identifying new opportunities for innovation and growth.

Lead and mentor engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and expertise to ensure the highest quality project deliverables.

Manage procurement of electrical materials for renewable energy projects and monitor construction progress to support resolution of any field issues.

Conduct thorough design reviews of electrical drawings for renewable energy projects and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Continuously improve the quality of new designs and specifications by incorporating lessons learned from previous projects and staying up to date with industry technology.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field

Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy and energy storage system design and engineering.

Proven experience managing large-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects.

Strong engineering knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems. Working knowledge of conventional generation and other technologies such as geothermal are a plus.

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality project deliverables.

Up to 30% travel required.
