Overview / Responsibilities

W ood is currently recruiting for a Senior-Level Civil / Structural Designer IV to support offshore projects in the Katy, TX Park 10 Office. This position will be a direct position. There is no relocation assistance or per diem.

Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

Position Responsibilities
  • Functions in a design role, supporting drawing and 3D model development
  • Assists the design lead to accomplish overall project objectives
  • Performs tasks with competency and extensive knowledge of standard techniques, procedures and design criteria
  • Supports the discipline lead in maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the project scope of work
  • Works with discipline lead and civil structural engineer to check model and drawing deliverables related to structural scope
  • Assures model and drawing deliverables are compatible with Wood project and client requirements
  • Applies knowledge of civil structural engineering design best practices, fabrication and construction techniques
  • Applies industry related standard codes, practices and procedures
  • Complete understanding of the skills required for all lower design positions
  • Workshare experience preferred


Skills / Qualifications

  • Drafting and Design Certificate or equal training preferred
  • Established knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
  • AutoCAD and PDMS proficiency required, E3D also preferred
  • 15 - 20 year's progressive experience in offshore Structural Design
  • Complete understanding of proper drawing organization and production
  • Complete knowledge of design and drafting standards and procedures
  • Strong ethical standards
  • High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative
  • Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable
  • Accountable for results. Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects
  • Team player that works well with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients
