Responsibilities

The HSE Advisor's responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Administration of & monitoring compliance to the WFT OEPS Management System.
  • Participate in internal audits of the OEPS management system & external COR audits.
  • Participate in regular reviews of the OEPS management system to ensure that system objectives are being met fully & the system is effective. Actively pursuing areas for continuous improvement.
  • Provide advice on the implementation on & verify compliance to safe working procedures, Technical Work Instructions, Task Risk Assessments, requirements of the RADAR program, site PPE requirements, Monitor RADAR process actions to ensure they are followed up & closed out
  • Participate in conducting & maintain current site HSE risk assessments and risk registers.
  • Distribute HSE information to employees as appropriate.
  • Maintain HSE incident records in WPTS.
  • Participate in emergency response drills as per Weatherford Standards.
  • Monitor site induction conducted in line with company requirements.
  • Participate in incident investigations (CPAR) ensuring they are completed fully & that appropriate root causes & actions are identified & implemented.
  • Participate in site safety meetings.
  • Provide advice on application of hierarchy of controls as part of the risk management process.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities verifying compliance to key OEPS processes, including but not limited to Permit to Work, LOTO, pressure testing, machinery guarding, calibration/lifting equipment
  • Perform Facility Inspections, Hazard Hunts & Field Audits to verify compliance to OEPS requirements.
  • Maintain HSE records as per OEPS and regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly inspect which hazardous substances are used in facilities & ensure MSDSOnline is maintained to reflect current usage & that they are stored & used as per OEPS requirements


Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Educated to graduate level preferably in OHS
  • 5-7 years' recent experience in a position of a Senior HSE Professional such as a HSE Supervisor or HSE Lead preferably in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Recognized HSE qualification (CRSP, CSP, CHSC, etc.)
  • Experience in 5S/Lean principles

Travel Requirements of Position
  • Position will be based out of our Estevan location
  • Travel requirement of up to 50%, including overnight travel

  • Proficient with computers including within the Microsoft Office suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluent in both written and oral English
  • Ability to analyze HSE data to identify (track and trend) risks and identify potential solutions
