Job Purpose

Performs and provides technical support to drilling functions, operations and, projects and technical services requiring sound drilling engineering analysis and solutions.

Responsibilities

A. Evaluates drilling data in drilling wells including drill pipe records, rate of penetration charts, lost circulation zones and well completion details.
B. Provides basic technical support and witnesses drilling operations.
C. Prepares drilling procedures and programs and well completion reports.
D. Performs electric log correlations, prepares drilling time charts, has to have knowledge of mud characteristics and be able to review bit records to provide sound drilling engineering advice.
E. Prepares and follows-up programs for on and offshore oil and gas well drilling and workover operations, oil well testing, oil well acidizing an stimulation.
F. Assists in the design, operation and evaluation of new drilling equipment, new.
G. Assists in some training of new personnel, SA engineers and engineering aides. Performs basic engineering work as required to provide day-to-day technical assistance and basic advice to the operating divisions.

Education & Experience Requirements

A. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

B. Five (5) years of drilling engineering and operations experience.

C. Fluent in oral and written English and drilling and petroleum engineering technical language.
