Overview

As a QC Inspector- Welding , your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and safe welding operations within the company. You will be involved in various stages of project development, from planning and design to execution and quality control. Your expertise in welding techniques, materials, and industry standards will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and reliability of welded structures and components.

As a QC Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing welding operations across various products. Your role will involve, Job planning, job allocation among welders and conducting In process inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize welding processes and improve efficiency. You will play a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity, safety, and quality of welded components.

  • Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications for specific projects, considering factors such as materials, welding techniques, and industry codes and standards.
  • Conduct welding inspections and quality control tests to evaluate weldments' integrity, including visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and destructive testing (DT).
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review and approve welding plans, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to welding personnel, including welders, technicians, and inspectors, on welding techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate welding processes, equipment, and consumables to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality while minimizing costs and waste.
  • Identify and troubleshoot welding-related issues, such as defects, distortions, and material failures, and propose appropriate solutions or process improvements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to welding technology, materials, and inspection techniques.
  • Review and analyze welding documentation, including welding procedures, specifications, reports, and certifications, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Participate in project meetings, provide technical support, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution and timely completion.

Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to safety guidelines, conducting risk assessments, and implementing corrective measures to mitigate welding-related hazards

Qualifications

Experience & Education

REQUIRED
  • Any Bachelor's degree /Diploma/Welding engineering/ Materials Science/ or a related field.
  • 5-6 Years of Experience as Welding Inspector.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment, such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GMAW), and automated welding systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as American Welding Society (AWS) codes, API standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

REQUIRED
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
  • Experience with welding inspection methods and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, such as magnetic particle testing (MT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and radiographic testing (RT).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve welding-related issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to welding operations in the Oil & Gas industry.
