Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Logistics Specialist - Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
- Leads, manages and supports the full range of logistic activity including but not limited to: Procurement Status reporting, project/client/supplier progress meetings, liaison with all key stakeholders.
- Establishes priorities, assigns workloads, and reviews the more difficult and complex aspects of logistics workload.
- Accountable for all Freight Forwarding and Import/Export and Customs control activities, and compliance thereof
- Escalation point for all Project personnel, client representatives and suppliers where appropriate to resolve logistics issues.
- Ensure all Supply Chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan / schedule and / or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
- Ensures all logistics team carry out all activity in accordance with Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensure all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.
- Responsible for supporting the objectives of the Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality Policy and Information Security Management Policy by adhering to applicable Procedures and Work Instructions while fulfilling duties.
- Ensure & confirm compliance to safe working practices and be a role model for safety leadership at all times.
- Act as a role model and champion Woods vision, values, and behaviours.
- Act as a role model to embed Wood Financial Management Framework across the business.
- Implement robust performance management and development plans for the team, ensuring any gaps are addressed and development and succession planning is managed effectively.
- Monitor shipping man hour expenditure on assigned project and take action to ensure budgets are met.
- All other tasks as reasonably requested by line management.
Skills / Qualifications - Post Graduate in any discipline (Essential)
- Post graduate Diploma in Logistics / Shipping / Foreign Trade / Import Export Management (Desirable)
- Internal : Project Management, SCM, Engineering and Construction, deployed team members
- External : Lead relationships with clients, key suppliers, freight forwarders and customs providers
- Sets team objectives & responsible for their delivery
- Leadership of Logistics team
- Ensure clear understanding of processes, procedures and compliance against these (including legislation, customs control & incoterms)
- Accountable for correctly resourcing project team and ongoing development of the team
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in project shipping requirements including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industry.
