SENIOR OPERATIONAL SAFETY ADVISOR

 

Our client, a Major Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Safety Advisor for an onshore position with occasional site visits. This is long-term, core PAYE contract role.

 

 

CONTEXT:

 

Role Dimensions

 

Providing operational safety and occupational health advice and support to the asset and sites

 

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

 

Provides operational safety and occupational health expertise and advice to the Asset and Site Teams, through daily communication with site-based HSE Superintendents and working with them on common objectives.

Carry out regular site visits to support rollout of processes and procedures, safety and health improvements and any other initiatives as required.

Supports the development and delivery of operational safety and occupational safety aspects of site shutdown plans.

Support the development and implementation of the annual Asset HSE improvement plan.

Identify and raising the profile of areas of concern that should be considered in the annual audit and compliance monitoring plans.

Monitor the findings and actions from safety related audits carried out

Support the implementation of and compliance with the company's management system relating to safety and health.

Responsible for the production of site-specific procedures and related training materials for occupational safety and health

Coordinate site health & safety committee meetings

Assist in the preparation of emergency response and bridging documents

Assist in facilitation of contractor HSE forums

Conduct incident investigations, including root cause analysis and share lessons learned, ensure the quality of incident management system data and monitor action closure timeliness and quality

Assist in the implementation of digital HSE applications within the asset (e.g. Safety Observation Database, Stop the Job, Synergi and permit to work)

Assist in the compilation of SIMOPS dossiers for simultaneous operations between Operations and Construction/Operations, Seismic and Operations

Ensure occupational health risk assessment files for each operational site are maintained

 

 

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

 

Site experience

Professional safety/occupational health qualification

Relevant experience

Good knowledge of UK onshore and offshore health & safety legislation

Audit experience

Lead investigator trained

Possess current Offshore Survival Certificate and OEUK medical
