Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

Assist the Project Manager and Discipline Engineers in the effective provision of inspection management and inspection services to the allocated site(s), to support the Integrity Management Team in ensuring that the integrity management activities for the Client's assets are budgeted, planned, implemented and reported in a timely and effective manner.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

• Support the onshore Discipline Engineers in technical and operational aspects of integrity management by sourcing information, progressing actions, record maintenance etc

• Assist with the preparation and coordination of reports for performance management / integrity data e.g. overdue reports, weekly performance reports, monthly KPI reports etc

• Assist in RBA preparation and reviews as directed by Discipline Engineers

• Assist in the development of detailed plans, programs, and workscopes for annual corrosion and integrity monitoring etc, in direct liaison with third-party subcontractors, with client departments and other client contractors

• Assist in the preparation of workpacks for programmed work and for unplanned activities.

• Prepare for and assist in mobilisation of personnel and equipment

• Carry out input of project inspection and corrosion monitoring data into the client maintenance management system (SAP) and Oceaneering internal data systems.

• Assist the Project Manager in compilation of financial budgets, forecasts and statistics, preparation of CTR's, equipment/personnel requisitions and budgetary reports etc.

• Maintain training, competence and certification records for team members

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

• The position holder will report directly to the Project Manager / Principal Engineer

• Day-to-day work direction will be provided by the Discipline Engineers, primarily the Inspection Engineer

• All individuals within the team report indirectly to the Client Principal Integrity Engineer

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Minimum ONC in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable relevant qualification to SVQ/NVQ level 3

DESIRED

• Competent to UKAS RG2 Category 4, or capable of progression to this level

• HNC in an engineering discipline, or working towards such qualification

• Basic NDT awareness training for core techniques

• API/ASME Plant Inspection Level 1

• Offshore medical, BOSIET and MIST certification

• Confined Space Entry training

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Ability to display a methodical approach to workflow execution and problem solving

• Ability to work with initiative when presented with non-routine challenges

• Competent with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Good communicator - written, verbal and technical

• Good client and support contractor relationship skills

• CAD capability (AutoCAD) advantageous but non-essential

Working Conditions

This position is considered primarily OFFICE WORK (90% to 100%) which is characterised as follows.

• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night

• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace

• Work surface is stable (flat)

Occasional OFFSHORE WORK may be required (up to 10%) which is characterised as follows:

• Frequently outdoors in North Sea offshore environment

• Regular exposure to inclement weather, extremes of climate, and noise in the workplace

• Normally on stable work surfaces, but occasionally on vessels subject to wave motion

• Transit to offshore facilities by combination of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter flights
