Assignment Scope: This Facilities Engineering role focuses on the Well Pads & Pipelines area and is part of an integrated team within Surmont operations. The Well Pads & Pipelines Facilities Engineer works closely with site operations, and the Production Delivery Team, leveraging an engineering skillset to extract maximum value from the facilities while carefully managing the Health, Safety and the Environmental impacts related to operation.

This is a Calgary-based role on a Monday to Friday optional hybrid office/remote schedule.

Responsibilities:

* Support and adhere to Client's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system
* Ensure HSE issues are given priority consideration by complying with all corporate and operating procedures to align with corporate safety standards and expectations
* Well pad surface equipment surveillance & optimization such as separators and transfer pumps
* Daily operational process performance monitoring and troubleshooting as well as reporting on facility KPIs (key performance indicators)
* Evaluating and proposing solutions to operational and equipment challenges
* Manage minor scope engineering changes from conception to implementation following the company management of change processes
* Manage the portfolio of multiple short - medium term opportunities within Well Pads & Pipelines
* Support the design of surface equipment on future well pads and pipelines and support operations during startup

Required Qualifications:

* Recognized degree in Engineering from an accredited university
* Active professional membership with APEGA
* 5 years' experience in SAGD with exposure to wellpads and pipelines
* Experience and ability to work within a team-oriented and diverse cultural environment
* Strong written and oral communications skills
* Able to establish and manage priorities
* Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions
* Accepts ownership, is accountable and delivers on commitments

Preferred Qualifications:

* Facilities or Contact Engineering experience, working with operations and management of changes (MOC) processes
* Experience with well pads, specifically mechanical design or remediation issues
* Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of stress, corrosion, and equipment design / operation
* Experience with pipeline design and / or operations with a strong understanding of pipeline regulatory and code requirements
